I’m Back and What I’m Working On

Portfolio post update: I'm back

I’m back at the computer after taking a break to spend time with a cute baby on my maternity leave. Freelancers have an interesting relationship with work and taking personal leave. Since we’re self-employed, we don’t really get paid time off. Thus, I’m back in the saddle again already and ready to make a portfolio post, sharing with you what I’ve been up to.

Throughout the last several weeks, I’ve been working with a baby on my lap, helping Rock the Deadline with managing their social media. It takes some special talents to work with a baby on your lap!

Outside of caring for a newborn and posting curated content, I’ve been revising the book I co-authored with Murali Chemuturi in preparation for its re-publication. You can find the original edition of it on Amazon here. This has been very exciting, and I’m sure if you’re interested in being successful, you will want to check it out when it’s re-released. I’ll post updates regarding its availability as soon as I know more!

My most recent article is available on Rock the Deadline – it’s about revisiting old content. Upcoming articles will cover finding the ultimate all-in-one place inbox and organizing social media accounts.

The most recent issue of Equanimity Magazine is home to articles about JB Dondolo, Inc. – a charity organization working on renovating Igusi Hospital, and an interview with Gretchen Rubin I conducted. Check those out.

Projects this week include:

  • Finishing the editing of the book project
  • Continuing with social media posting for Rock the Deadline
  • Writing articles for the Rock the Deadline blog

I will also post to Activism My Way and Wining Wife during my maternity leave. Freelancers don’t rest, so be sure to check those blogs out! Stay tuned for another portfolio post soon.

Hello there, and welcome to my page! I have been working as a full-time freelance writer and editor since 2008 when I decided that while I rather enjoyed philosophy, the Ph.D. program I was in was not a good fit for my life goals. Since then, I have published many papers and articles, started two blogs, worked as a senior editor for a magazine, served on the board of a start-up non-profit organization, and walked across fire.
